NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 18 – A total of 37 Fairmont properties have been listed on the Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) 2024 Star Award Winners list.
Among the enlisted Fairmont properties in Kenya are Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club and Fairmont Norfolk.
Others include The Centre for Wellbeing at Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, United States; Fairmont Beijing Hotel China; Fairmont Empress Canada; Fairmont Makati Philippines; Fairmont Nile City, Egypt; Fairmont Quasar Istanbul, Turkey; and Fairmont Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The FTG 2024 Star Award, which reflects trending tastes among travelers, explored various destinations from the 66th annual list of the best hotels, restaurants, spas, and ocean cruises offering meaningful experiences across the world.
The awards also expanded to new destinations, including Kenya, Azerbaijan, Curacao, Iceland, Sardinia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Forbes Travel Guide stated that following the pandemic, travelers flocked to big, iconic destinations like Paris, Rome, and the Maldives.
“While those destinations will always have their allure, vacationers are now seeking out more meaningful trips where they can embark on once-in-a-lifetime experiences, like a safari,” it stated.
The Middle East emerged as the region with the most new five-star awards, with Waldorf Astoria Kuwait winning the top honor for both its art-deco-influenced hotel and its 13,560-square-foot spa.
Several Dubai restaurants also made their debuts on the 2024 list, including Armani/Ristorante Dubai, which serves sophisticated Italian fare overlooking the Dubai Fountain, and Stay by Yannick Alleno, a French institution.
Three Fairmont properties, including Princess Bermuda, Fairmont Pacific, and Fairmont Springs, both in Canada, also ranked top in the US News and World Report 2024.
