Absa Bank Kenya raises dividend 17pc as profit hits Sh22.9bn

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 4 – Absa Bank Kenya has increased its dividend payout per share by 17 percent to Sh2.05 after posting a 10 percent rise in net profit to Sh22.9 billion for the year ended December 31, 2025.

The total distribution includes an interim dividend of Sh0.20 and a final dividend of Sh1.85 per ordinary share.

The lender’s profit growth was supported by a 12 percent increase in non-interest income to Sh18.1 billion. However, net interest income declined by 6 percent to Sh43.3 billion during the period.

Customer deposits grew by 1 percent to Sh372.4 billion, while loans and advances rose by a similar margin to Sh312 billion year-on-year.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamed said the performance reflects the bank’s role in supporting economic activity across individuals, businesses and communities while delivering sustainable returns to shareholders.
