NAIROBI, Kenya, July 26 – Absa Bank Kenya has partnered with Samsung to allow its cardholders to purchase electronics through credit.
Under the partnership, Absa customers will be able to purchase mobile phones and smartwatches with a repayment period of up to 12 months.
“We can give you a limit that you can transact with. If your limit is Sh20,000 that would mean you can only buy equipment worth that amount,” said Pauline Munyoki, Absa’s senior product manager.
Absa has exuded confidence in the partnership, underscoring the immense platform that technology provides for unlocking economic capabilities.
“As Absa, we are very excited about this partnership with Samsung. We are passionate about innovation and technology. It makes life better,” added Munyoki.
She observed that the partnership will enable ABSA customers to enjoy better deals on acquiring equipment.
It comes after the lender earlier unveiled its ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ product, allowing customers to buy goods on credit.
“Given the prevailing economic environment in which many consumers are having to make tough spending decisions, we understand the growing need to manage one’s expenses and make purchases without straining one’s wallet,” Head of Card Payments at Absa Linda Kimani said.
