NAIROBI, Kenya Nov 26 – Airtel Business, Airtel Africa’s Business solutions unit is set to provide Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Africa with secure internet access in order to protect their online transaction channels against cyber-attacks.

This would be done in conjunction with Cisco, an American multinational technology corporation, which would equip businesses with multiple security functions enabling them to protect their devices and data.

Airtel Business Group Enterprise Director, Luc Servian, in a statement, said that the first beneficiaries are those SMEs  in Kenya, Uganda, Congo-Brazzaville, and Madagascar.

He further said that the partnership would ensure business owners focus on growing their income revenue.

“For the small business owner who is potentially overwhelmed with the idea of having to manage complex cyber-security protection on top of running a business, while knowing it is time to upgrade his/her security technology to something stronger, our partnership with Cisco’s Umbrella can fill in the gaps for small business cyber-security teams,” Servian said.

On his part Vikas Sharma, Client Partner at Cisco said that the partnership between the two firms would mean that businesses are equipped with the best solutions to manage their businesses.
