NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 1 – Airtel Kenya has unveiled affordable broadband devices for homes, small businesses and communities in small towns and remote areas.
The telco Managing Director Ashish Malhotra said that the new devices comprise a 4G smart box retailing Sh5,500, including 10GB free data and a pocket WI-FI retailing at Sh2,500.
ββWe are committed to enhance Universal broadband access through continuous investments in our 4G network,β Malhotra said Thursday while launching βInternet Mashinaniβ in Nairobi.
βToday we launch Internet Mashinani, which will provide affordable home broadband devices and data packages, the use of 4G technologies to provide world-class quality broadband access,ββ he added.
Beside offering fast-speed internet connectivity, the devices data packages are lower.
Providing cheap internet services is in line with Airtelβs strategy to make communication services accessible and pocket-friendly.
The 4G smart box router enables wireless and LAN connections, connecting up to 32 devices, thus ideal for many users- homes, businesses, schools, community centers.
