NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 21 – The AMG Foundation has launched a new community library in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, expanding its footprint to five locations as part of its mission to transform underserved communities through education.
The foundation now operates libraries in Murang’a (Kangunduini and Githumu), Nanyuki, Kibera and Mukuru, providing children with access to books, computers and mentorship. In 2025 alone, its education initiatives recorded more than 50,000 attendances, an 82 percent increase from 2024, reflecting growing demand for safe learning spaces.
According to the foundation, learners who use its libraries have shown notable improvement in academic performance, with many passing national examinations and gaining confidence in their future prospects. The Mukuru facility can host 120 students per sitting and features a computer lab equipped with 15 computers and internet access.
AMG Foundation Director Andrew Muthee said the initiative is anchored on the belief that education is the greatest equalizer, adding that the foundation remains committed to restoring hope and shaping brighter futures for children in underserved communities.
