NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 19 – Co-operative Bank of Kenya has raised its dividend per share by 67 percent to Sh2.50 for the year ended December 31, 2025, following a strong rise in profitability.
The lender’s profit after tax grew by Sh5.9 billion to Sh39.9 billion during the period, up from the previous year.
Shareholders will receive a total dividend of Sh2.50 per share, up from Sh1.50 paid in 2024, comprising a final dividend of Sh1.50 and an interim dividend of Sh1.00 paid in December 2025.
“The Directors of Co-op Bank recommend to the Members at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting the payment of a final dividend for the year 2025 of Sh1.50 per ordinary share held; an interim dividend of Sh1.00 per ordinary share held paid in December 2025 to make a total payment of Sh2.50 per share,” the bank said in its financial statement.
Of the Group’s Sh39.9 billion net profit, Co-op Bank Kenya contributed Sh26.5 billion, marking a Sh3.5 billion increase, while Kingdom Bank posted Sh876.4 million in profit, up by Sh327.5 million.
Total operating income rose from Sh81 billion to Sh92 billion, supported by a jump in net interest income to Sh62.9 billion from Sh51.5 billion.
However, non-interest income remained largely flat at Sh29.1 billion.
The Group’s loans and advances also grew, increasing from Sh55.9 billion to Sh60.1 billion during the review period.
