NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 25 – The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin has been granted six days to hold three suspects being investigated over the illegal sale of East Africa Portland Cement Land.
The presiding Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe declined to grant 30days as applied by the state saying that the suspect were arrested on October 19th and Investigating team had sufficient time to carry out the investigations.
He said the court has taken concern on what happened last week over demolitions that took place at Portland Cement in Mavoko sub county.
The court also took recognition and concern over the loss of properties during the demolitions.
The suspects who are officials of Three Aimi Ma Lukenya, are Julius Mutua (chairman), Pascal Kiseli (treasurer), and Alex Kyalo (Secretary).
Their defense counsels applied to have the matter be heard either in Machakos or Mavoko where the incident took place.
They said these would allow over 10,000 members of the association to attend court during the trial.
The court will give directions on 31st October to confirm the progress of the investigations.
