NAIROBI, Kenya, June 15 – Exiled activist Miguna Miguna has protested the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) reminders on tax returns and accumulating penalties highlighting the double standards of the Government which has denied him entry into the country.
Miguna was deported in March 2018 with the Government arguing that the Miguna who holds dual nationality is not a citizen, the deportation has raised controversy pegged on political motives after he was involved in the swearing-in of Raila Odinga who lost the 2017 General Elections.
Miguna Miguna while sharing a KRA statement, demanded to be granted entry into the country first before he could comply with the requirements to file returns before the June 30 deadline.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has previously defended the Government’s action saying the lawyer will only be required to fill a document for citizenship re-registration before he is allowed to enter the country.
Miguna has since fallen out with Odinga and has appeared to be leaning towards Deputy President William Ruto who wants to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
