NAIROBI, Kenya Nov 29- Kenya is set to host the inaugural Tech Run event that aims to unlock tech innovations across the country.
The event organized by Eldohub, an education, innovation and tech organization in partnership with UK Kenya Tech Hub and the British High Commission, will be held on 1st and 2nd December 2024, in Eldoret Uasin Gishu county.
The forum aims to promote the region’s stature as a global athletics hub, leveraging Kenya’s renowned prowess in long-distance running and its burgeoning tech ecosystem.
The Tech Run will feature a 10 Kilometer Elite Athlete Run showcasing world-class Kenyan athletes alongside a 5 Kilometer Tech Innovator Run tailored for tech professionals, startups, and investors.
These races will exemplify the dynamic synergy between technology and endurance, celebrating the resilience and determination characteristic of both sectors.
The accompanying Eldoret City Investors Forum will be a pivotal platform for inspiring tech-driven innovation.
Magdalene Chepkemoi, founder and CEO of Eldohub said the event will explore the use of sports science in business and promote resilience and mental health among entrepreneurs.
“Kenya is known for its long-distance running and innovation in tech.Like in marathon running, building a successful business requires endurance, patience, and long-term commitment,” said Chepkemoi, CEO Eldohub.
She added that the forum will further explore sustainable practices that stimulate economic growth and job creation, particularly for youth and women across Kenya.
“Our goal with the Tech Run and Investors Forum is to showcase how the tenacity of Kenyan athletes can inspire and transform our entrepreneurial landscape.”
Athletics Kenya President Jack Tuwei noted that participants will engage in discussions that highlight the value of mental and physical resilience, which is essential to overcoming the obstacles of entrepreneurship.

EldoHub provides STEM education, job matching, and digital work. The firm also runs entrepreneurship development programs and incubates startups to bring their ideas to life.
