NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 10 – NARC leader Martha Karua has advised Members of the Nairobi County Assembly to diligently execute their oversight role so as to avoid a repeat of having county functions transferred to another entity like the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
Karua was speaking when she paid a courtesy call to the office of the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Ken Ngondi, so as to be appraised of the MCAs work.
Noting that Azimio coalition is the majority in the Nairobi County Assembly, Karua urged the members to deliver for Nairobi residents and avoid sideshows.
“Fight with ideas and not fists, do not allow NMS season two. Sitting down and discussing is a solution to everything, there is no win in trying to prove a point,” Karua stated.
The NARC leader also asked the ward representatives to take care of the interests of their electorates and not to allow them to be exploited.
This includes ensuring moving bills and motions which are people centered.
“We are available for any support you may need in executing your duties,” she stated.
On his part Speaker Ngondi said they will always reach out for support when needed.
