NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 28 – An employee of the Family Bank has been charged for stealing Sh66.91 million from the lender.
The accused, Elias Kinyua Njue, is said to have stolen the amount as an employee.
While appearing before Milimani Court senior principal magistrate Ben Mark Ikhubi, the accused denied the charge and was released on a cash bail of Sh1 million with an alternative bond of 5 million shillings.
The accused, according to the prosecution, is said to have committed the offense on August 3, 2023.
The trial magistrate directed the prosecution to supply all documentary evidence to the accused and set the matter for mention on November 2 for pre-trial.
