Nairobi’s most anticipated fashion affair, Fashion High Tea 2023, unfolded in full splendor on Saturday, 25th February at Zen Garden. In a swirl of fashion, clinking glasses, and the soft hum of conversation, the city’s most stylish gathered: glam, extra, and unapologetically fabulous.
Despite the unforgiving February scorching heat, Kenya’s fashion elite, media tastemakers, political faces, and celebrity names turned out in their finest. From effervescent bubbly to curated bites, it was a masterclass in indulgence, connection, and couture. And when it came to fashion? The assignment was understood — and executed with flair.

Every February, sisters Shivani and Payal Radia — the visionary co-founders of Zen Garden, curate one of Nairobi’s most anticipated style affairs: Fashion High Tea. A sartorial spectacle where elegance meets intention, the event brings together a constellation of designers under one lush, garden-set roof. With each passing year, it cements its reputation as the ultimate celebration of fashion, flair, and philanthropy. The mood? Luxe. The dress code? Unapologetically fabulous.
The event prides itself on being one of the few local events that combine fashion and charity, with proceeds going to support a noble cause each year. For this year’s Fashion High Tea, the Kenya Women & Children’s Wellness Centre (KWCWC), an organization dedicated to supporting survivors of gender-based violence, is the beneficiary of the proceeds.
The organization is currently in the process of building a Gender Violence Recovery Centre (GVRC) behind the USIU, situated on a 10-acre piece of land near the Northern bypass road. In the meantime, they are actively engaged in sensitization, awareness, and capacity building through educational training for both the community and duty bearers in government and private institutions within the Kasarani region.
