NAIROBI KENYA, Oct 19 – Tech firm Huawei will invest Sh30 billion on industrial digital transformation in Africa and Middle East.
The Open Labs programme will be implemented through Huawei ICT Academy as well as Huawei Authorized Learning Partner (HALP) programs.
In the initiative, the company will collaborate with its partners on innovations, providing them access to new framework, integrated platform, and talent pool.
“These will be implemented via Open Labs and through the Huawei ICT Academy and the Huawei Authorized Learning Partner (HALP) programs. To achieve this, Huawei will invest Ksh 30 billion (US$300 million) into this program over the next three years to support its global partners,”
“The support is part of a broader desire to boost digital infrastructure, including more robust connectivity and stronger, diverse computing resources.”Huawei Africa and Middle East president Steve Yi said.
In addition, Huawei aims to assist businesses go beyond simple cloud adoption to maximize its benefits.
“Our mission is to build out local digital ecosystems by developing our partners, strengthen the digital talent pool across the region and provide more support for its SMEs,” he said.
Data ingestion, transmission, storage, and analysis are crucial elements in the digital transformation, according to the Huawei company.
In order to facilitate end-to-end data processing, Huawei offers full-stack products and product portfolios, accelerating its clients’ digital transformation.
“To address data storage, Huawei and Commvault, a data management software company, jointly launched a data protection solution that provides enterprise customers with secure and reliable data protection from end to end,” Yi said.
“This helps create a reliable and efficient storage foundation, allowing enterprises to maximize the value of data.”
