Nairobi Polo Club was a vision of elegance, congenial hospitality, entertainment and good vibes as hundreds of game enthusiasts thronged the grounds to watch an exhilarating and action-packed polo match in the Zambia Men’s 9 Goal Polo Tournament. The hosts, Kenya and visiting team from Zambia took part in the closely contested International, which also marked the return of high-stakes polo action to Nairobi after a month-long hiatus.
As is tradition, when sport meets fashion, its an opportunity to dress for an occasion and to admire the sophisticated style of other tournament goers, as the Instagram worthy outfits rent the air, thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who show up, in their fabulous pieces. Polo Tournaments have long been a playground for fashion enthusiasts and trendsetters, who come together to celebrate the sport and revel in the opportunity to showcase their sartorial choices, and this is our favorite part of the event. While the sports fans had their eyes fixed on the polo game, ours was fixed on the stylish garbs all over the stands and the marquee.

The tournament returns in keeping with the Nairobi Polo Club’s annual schedule, which features international tournaments in September every year. It has been a 9-goal tournament, which means that the total handicap of each team (the sum of the handicaps of its individual players) cannot exceed 9 goals. This high handicap limit ensures a balanced tournament in terms of skill and experience, making the matches competitive and exciting.
