Kakamega, Kenya July 8 – Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has urged residents to take advantage of diverse lending institutions in the county to obtain finances to start income generating activities.
He said the county government has set aside Sh80million in the Kakamega County Microfinance Corporation to offer cheap interest loans.
Oparanya was speaking after flagging off two double cabin vehicles to support the corporation in their mobilization efforts.
The governor also flagged off one fire engine, two garbage collection trucks, one double cabin for the ministry of water and three county polytechnic buses.
“We procured a fire engine worth Sh60 Million from South Africa to strengthen disaster response in the county,” he added.
He said the county government will purchase more buses for other polytechnics.
