NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 10 – Kakuzi unionisable employees will be rewarded with a 16 percent wage increment following the signing of an updated Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Kenya Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union (KPAWU).
More than 3,350 workers at its Makuyu operations site will benefit from the wage hike for the next two years, effective January, under the new CBA agreement.
Kakuzi Managing Director Chris Flowers said the firm will continue to prioritize the welfare of its human capital by providing quality working conditions, rewards, and benefits.
“Kakuzi appreciates the support that the KPAWU leadership extended to complete the CBA negotiations successfully,” Flowers said.
“As a responsible company, our employees’ welfare is paramount, and this signing affirms our commitment to continue providing a safe workplace while maintaining good relationships between the company, employees and the union,” he added.
The signing of the updated CBA follows a recent round of mutual negotiations between Kakuzi and KPAWU.
