Kayole Starlets Bounce Back with Gritty Win Over Kisumu AllStarlets

NAIROBI, Kenya, February 1, 2026 — Kayole Starlets beat Kisumu AllStarlets 2–1 in a hard-fought encounter to claim their first victory of the year and end a run of three consecutive defeats.

The visitors started brightly and thought they had taken the lead in the 35th minute when Lindah Kihara found the back of the net, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.

Undeterred, Kayole maintained their attacking intent and were rewarded just ten minutes later.

In the 45th minute, Kihara rose highest to power home a bullet header from Drailer’s pinpoint delivery, giving Kayole a deserved breakthrough.

The momentum stayed with the Nairobi-based side, and shortly after, Mercy Mang’uro doubled the advantage with a well-taken direct free kick, sending Kayole into the halftime break with a commanding 2–0 lead.

Kisumu AllStarlets responded in the second half and managed to pull one back in the 73rd minute, setting up a tense final stretch.

However, Kayole Starlets showed composure and defensive discipline to see out the game and secure all three points.

The victory was particularly significant for Kayole Starlets, who had endured a difficult run of results early in the year.

After three straight losses, the players dedicated the win to everyone who stood by the team and continued to believe in them through the challenging period.

With confidence restored and momentum regained, Kayole Starlets will now look to build on this result as they head back to Nairobi buoyed by a much-needed victory.
