NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 10 – The Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has clinched three prestigious awards, reinforcing its leadership in financial reporting, sustainability, and supply chain management.
At the 2024 Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards, KenGen was recognized as the top State Corporation for its adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The awards, organized by ICPAK in collaboration with the NSE and CMA, highlight excellence in corporate accountability.
KenGen also earned the Sustainable Procurement Award at the 2024 Kenya Institute of Supply Chain Management (KISM) Awards for its eco-friendly supply chain practices.
Additionally, the company’s Supply Chain Manager, Beatrice Koskei, won the inaugural Supply Chain Women Leader Award, celebrated for breaking barriers in the male-dominated field.
The accolades align with KenGen’s 10-year “Good to Great (G2G)” strategy, which focuses on operational transformation and scaling renewable energy capacity.
CEO Peter Njenga emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and financial responsibility as it pursues its transformative goals.
