Kenyans to work in Canada under a new government deal

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 16 – The Kenyan government has struck a deal with Canada that will see Kenyans access employment opportunities in the North American country.

Foreign and Diaspora Cabinet Secretary (CS) Alfred Mutua, who is on an official visit to Canada, announced it on his Twitter handle.
Mutua discussed with his Canadian counterpart on work opportunity pathways for Kenyans in the state.
“I was pleased to note that there are job opportunities within various economic sectors across Canada and Kenyans can travel to Canada as students, tourists and as workers, ” Mutua tweeted, adding that the East African nation is ready to fill the gap.
Working opportunities will be availed in the coming days by the duo as negotiations are at high levels.
“The process for those who wish to go to Canada is simple but requires one to be diligent,” he added.
He, however, warned Kenyans against falling prey to unscrupulous recruitment agencies that would take advantage of the announcement.
“I will be providing a list of Canadian Government approved consultants (under the College of Immigration and Citizenship approved consultants “said Mutua.
