NAIROBI, Kenya, April 25 – The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) to enhance petroleum handling at the Kipevu Oil Terminal II at the Port of Mombasa.
The MoU was signed by KPA and KPC Board Chairs Dalu Tayari and Faith Boinett, along with Managing Directors Captain William Ruto and Joe Sang of KPC.
According to KPA, the move will not only ensure the effective maintenance of the oil handling facility but also enhance the efficient evacuation of petroleum products from the terminal.
“KPA and @kenyapipeline have today signed a Service Level Agreement that will enhance the efficient handling and evacuation of petroleum products to and from the Kipevu Oil Terminal II at the Port of Mombasa, as well as the effective maintenance of the oil handling facility,” KPA stated on the X page.
KPA further affirmed that the agreement delivers a range of services encompassing marine operations, petroleum cargo handling, transportation, storage, and facility maintenance.
KPA is positive that the MOU will enhance synergy in operations and improve efficiency through shared responsibility.
“Under the SLA, KPA and KPC will jointly deliver a range of services encompassing marine operations, petroleum cargo handling, transportation, storage, and facility maintenance,” added KPA.
