Fashion, Fast Cars & Fine Vibes: Inside the Africa Concours d’Elegance, Nairobi

This year’s Concours d’Elegance, organised by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, was a fun-filled day out for families and friends. Enthusiasts turned up in large numbers to admire a stunning showcase of classic and vintage cars, while also enjoying delicious food, refreshing drinks, and live entertainment from a vibrant band.

Africa’s Concours d’Elegance is open to all makes of cars and motorcycles, and is widely regarded as the classiest event on the Kenya Motor Sport Federation calendar, drawing over 10,000 attendees annually.

The centrepiece of the day is the meticulous judging of 70 classic and vintage cars and 40 motorcycles, conducted under regulations approved by the Kenya Motor Sport Federation (KMSF).

But it’s not just about the cars. Concours day is also a fashion affair, with both ladies and gentlemen stepping out in their most stylish ensembles, adding to the visual delight of the event.

From elegant sun hats and vintage-inspired dresses to sharply tailored suits and statement accessories, style was on full display at the Ngong Racecourse. Guests embraced the glamour of the occasion, with many drawing inspiration from the classic cars on show—think retro silhouettes, bold prints, and timeless elegance. The fashion was as diverse and expressive as the vehicles, making the Concours not just a feast for motor enthusiasts, but also a standout moment on Nairobi’s social style calendar.

Beyond the cars and couture, the lifestyle experience at the Africa Concours d’Elegance was equally unforgettable. Guests lounged under elegant tents and custom setups, sipping on champagne and cocktails as they caught up with friends or networked with fellow enthusiasts. Food stations offered everything from gourmet bites to classic Kenyan favorites, ensuring no one went hungry as they strolled the expansive grounds. The VIP sections provided a touch of luxury—with shaded seating, attentive service, and unobstructed views of the parade and judging area—perfect for those looking to enjoy the event in style and comfort. Children’s entertainment zones kept the little ones engaged, while curated brand activations and sponsor lounges added an interactive, contemporary twist to the heritage-themed day. It was more than just a motor show—it was a celebration of taste, tradition, and togetherness.
