More than 1,00 females to take part in the Kayana Awards

NAIROBI, Kenya, April 24 – Over 1000 female entrepreneurs in the country are set to compete for the Kayana Awards to showcase their elite entrepreneurial prowess.

In a statement, Kayana Creates stated that the nominees are in nine different categories, including pioneering businesses such as MRX Media Limited, Spectrum Engineering, and Essenpark Limited.

According to the CEO of Kayana Creates, Patricia Okelo, the awarding will be fundamental in motivating female entrepreneurs in the country and will act as an ideal platform to showcase the business muscle of females in the country.

“We are thrilled to honor the outstanding contributions of women entrepreneurs through the 2024 Kayana Female MSME awards. These awards not only celebrate the accomplishments of individual businesses but also highliht the collective strength and resilience of women in Business, driving positive change and innovation across different sectors,” she stated.

Kayane Create has further pledged to provide the necessary support to women entrepreneurs, which will help them maneuver through the country’s competitive business environment.

According to Kayane, lack of start-up capital and legal requirements have been one of the key challenges that have hindered women entrepreneurs across the country from fully showcasing their full power in the business world, especially in small and medium enterprises.

“SMEs are the backbone of global business, consisting of 90% of businesses worldwide. In Kenya these enterprises play a pivotal role, contributing to approximately 40% of the GDP.”
