NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 3 – The National Environment Management Authority has suspended the registration of new Environmental Assessment Experts so as to allow for audit of the register.

NEMA Director General Mamo B. Mamo through a statement this morning indicated that the audit and streamlining of the register will take place between January to July 2023.

DG Mamo has explained the audit of the register has also been necessitated after a review of annual experts practicing license register showed that less than 50 per cent of the registered experts are in practice.

He however clarified that during the suspension period, issuance of annual practising license for registered experts shall continue.
