Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has continued its global expansion with the grand opening of Dusit Princess Hotel Residences Nairobi, a unique hybrid property consisting of spacious deluxe hotel rooms and apartments in Westlands.
Soft opened in March 2023, just 5 km from the Central Business District, this elegant property offers 100 spacious hotel rooms and suites designed for both short-term and extended stays. These include a variety of tastefully furnished Deluxe rooms, Junior suites, and One-Bedroom suites, all providing breathtaking views of the city.
The grand opening was presided over by Cabinet Secretary (Minister) for Tourism and Wildlife, Dr. Alfred Mutua, on behalf of Prime Cabinet Secretary and CS for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi and attended by government officials, celebrities, media, ambassadors, and travel industry specialists, including the Thailand Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Morakot Janemathukorn; Kenya Tourist Board CEO June Chepkemei; Dusit International Chief Operating Officer Gilles Cretallaz; and the hotel’s General Manager, Lionel Formento.
Alongside showcasing the hotel’s various facilities, the grand opening event also highlighted Dusit’s unique blend of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality and local service traditions. The company’s commitment to contributing positively to Kenya’s tourism industry and its economic growth by attracting international visitors and creating meaningful and memorable experiences for guests, residents, and locals alike was also emphasized.

Additionally, he noted that while Dusit D2 is part of the Dusit International brand portfolio, it is a different entity from Dusit Princess. “We are a newly built hotel in a new location with a different brand concept.”
