NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 22 – The Board of Safaricom has recommended a Sh0.55 interim dividend payout to shareholders for the year ending March 31, 2024.
During a similar period last year, Safaricom announced a Sh0.58 payout, which means that this year’s figure is slightly lower.
Consequently, a total of Sh23 billion will be dished out to shareowners.
“The Board of Safaricom is pleased to announce that at its meeting held in February 2024, it resolved to approve the payments of interim dividends of Sh0.55 per ordinary share amounting to Sh23 Billion for the year ending March 31, 2024,” read the Board statement.
All stockholders are set to get their payments on or about March 31, 2024.
The decision on payments of the dividends was undertaken during the firm’s board meeting held on February 21, 2024, after approval by the Capital Markets.
“The Interim dividends will be payable to shareholders on the Register of Members as at the close of business on March 15, 2024, and will be paid on or about March 31, 2024,” it added.
