NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 24 – Several roads in Nairobi are set to be closed on Sunday ahead of the annual Jubilee Insurance bike race.
Some of the affected roads include Mombasa Road (getting into the CBD), University Way, Westlands-Kileleshwa Road, and Langata Overpass.
Others are Kibra-Ngong Link Way, Hurlingam-Kilelwshwa, Nairobi Hill, and Mombasa Road via south C.
The insurer, in a statement, said that the closure was to allow smooth coordination of the race.
“In order to ensure the safety and security of participants, spectators, and the general public; Kenya Police, KURA, NTSA Jubilee Insurance and its partners would like to announce temporary traffic diversions for the upcoming second edition of the Jubilee Live Free Race – Powered by the Grand Nairobi Bike Race (GNBR), scheduled to take place on Sunday 26th of November 2023 from 0630 am,” the insurer said.
“The following traffic diversions will be in effect during the event.”
