BISSAU, Guinea-Bissau, April 6 – President William Ruto has said that he will consider the possibility of Kenya Airways flying to Guinea-Bissau.
Speaking in Bissau yesterday, the president said that this will honor the request of Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
“I will also consider your excellency you request to explore possibilities of Kenya Airways which now flies to Dakar which is 30 minutes away from here, to look at possibilities of including Guinea Bissau as part of their footprint,” he stated.
The president is optimistic that honoring the request will be pivotal in boosting trade, mobility, integration, and the movement of people to West Africa and Africa at large.
“This will be a mechanism of enhancing mobility, integration, and movement of people in our continent as we collectively support the Africa Continental freeted area mechanism,” he remarked.
The president further asserted that the removal of visa requirements for visitors coming to Kenya will further reinforce people-to-people and trade relations between the two nations.
“Your excellency, the people to people relations will be enhanced if we can facilitate the movement of people of goods and services across borders,” he stated.
“As I have informed you, we have removed all VISA requirements for travelers, Citizens including those of Guinea Bissau, they can now travel to Kenya without the requirement of any VISA,” he added.
