NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 17 – Hemingways has released its travel trends for 2023, which point to customers embracing sustainability, technology, work-life integration, well-being, and culinary adventures.
Hemingways Travel Managing Director Joseph Kithitu said that travelers last year were conscious of their choices.
”In 2023, we have witnessed a surge in eco-conscious choices, from green accommodations to carbon offset programs,” Kithitu stated.
“The data speaks volumes, 40% of travelers have actively enquired destinations and experiences that align with their values of environmental responsibility,” he added.
He said that demand for eco-friendly travel is not just a trend but a paradigm shift that necessitates a commitment to responsible tourism.
”The modern traveler seeks efficiency, personalization, and connectivity, and technology is the conduit through which these expectations are met,” he continued.
“AI-driven itinerary suggestions and virtual tours that bring destinations to life, have been at the forefront of embracing tech innovations.”
The global focus on health and wellness as well as food, he adds, is also growing in the travel realm.
“We are witnessing a surge in the demand for wellness retreats, spa vacations, and destinations that prioritize both physical and mental well-being including digital detox.”
