Tabitha Karanja urges Nakuru MCAs to impeach Kihika

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 25 – Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has called for the impeachment of Governor Susan Kihika for undermining other elected leaders in the county.

The Keroche Breweries CEO on Thursday urged Members of Nakuru County Assembly to table an impeachment motion against governor Kihika stating that she has not been involving various elected leaders in the county.

“Since Governor Suzan Kihika assumed office she has been undermining other elected leaders and calling them names in front of the people who elected them,” she said.

Senator Tabitha accused Kihika of undermining her oversight role pleading with the area MCAs to kick her out of office.

“Governor Kihika has been undermining our efforts especially my oversight role.I thought she would appreciate my oversight role as my predecessor but instead she is rubbishing my role day in day out,” she stated.

According to Tabitha, the accusations leveled against governor Kihika form solid grounds for her impeachment.

“I am only playing my role as mandated by the residents of Nakuru County and as guided by the constitution,” she added.

Kihika assumed office in August 2022 after beating Lee Kinyanjui who was aiming to retain his seat during the August 9 polls.

Before becoming a governor, she served as the second Nakuru County Senator.
