NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 4- Tata Chemicals and Magadi Limited is committed to raising standards of education in Magadi region and community development in Kajiado County.
Subodh Srivastav, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Chemicals Magadi has emphasized that the company is supporting several schools in Magadi zone to address key education issues with an aim of uplifting the lives of the locals.
“Tata Chemicals and Magadi recognizes education as a powerful catalyst for securing the future of youth and transforming the lives of the Maa Community,” Said Srivastav CEO Tata Chemicals Magadi, adding that the education program initiative recognizes and rewards outstanding schools, educators, and students through a competitive and equitable selection process.
Jeremiah Ncharo, the County Education CEC, has stated that the company’s role in elevating educational standards will help increase the number of students gaining admission to public universities in Kajiado County.
The company is currently supporting 38 students from the Magadi Division to extend their primary education including annual support and covering their complete four-year secondary school tuition fees.
The education program, which is a collaborative effort involving stakeholders, local community, Kajiado County Government, and the National Government is dedicated to enhancing the quality and delivery of education in the Magadi region.
Additionally, the company also contributes to essential infrastructure and resources in public schools, including providing access to clean water, supplying desks, and funding teacher salaries in the Magadi zone.
During Tata Chemicals Magadi’s Education awards ceremony Day, Magadi Soda School, run by the company, stood out for its exceptional performance, topping the results in the entire County.
Memusi School and emerging secondary schools such as Oloika and Oldonyo-Onyoike also received recognition together with several regional education leaders during the award ceremony event.
