NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 10 – Tile and Carpet Centre has announced upcoming redundancies in its Athi River production department, citing economic and production challenges as key drivers.

The restructuring is set to begin on December 6, 2024, as part of a strategic realignment aimed at ensuring the company’s long-term sustainability.

Head of Human Resources, Mandeep Degon, emphasized that the decision to downsize was carefully considered in response to a decline in production demand and broader economic constraints.

Degon noted that affected employees will receive a comprehensive package, including notice pay, severance, accrued leave pay, a certificate of service, and a reference letter.

“Downsizing operations at our production plant is necessary to maintain the company’s long-term viability,” Degon stated, adding that the decision was made after a thorough review of operational requirements.
