The joy of someone complimenting your scent is one that is guaranteed to leave you elated.
It shows an appreciation for the effort you put in your appearance and style, an overall impression of being a sharp, well put-together person. Not to mention, everyone loves somebody who smells good. That alone is a constant reminder that investing in a good perfume should be a task you take seriously.

When purchasing a perfume, choose one that compliments your lifestyle for example, what times are you hoping to wear it? Is it for a specific occasion? Are you hoping to leave an effect, are you hoping to impress, are you hoping to be subtle? Are you wearing it to a meeting or to a function or just at home while chilling? Are you wearing it to bed, as you cuddle your lover?
Strong scents are not really advisable for meetings (you don’t want to walk in and make people sneeze throughout or notice that it’s probably too much). On other hand, you may want a perfume on a date/ event when you want to walk in and get noticed by the scent you are wearing. So, these scenarios should help you determine what you want to purchase for what event/ time.

Quick Tips that can help you when purchasing a fragrance
When purchasing a fragrance, remember to try it first on your skin. It is a good idea to spray a small amount on your wrists, wait a few moments, and then smell the scent on your skin. This is because fragrances react differently to our body chemistry. This is based on our bodies unique pheromones that will tweak different scents that come into contact with our skin.

Consider your skin type before deciding which fragrance to have. Fragrances dissipate faster on drier skin tones and so, a concentrated fragrance with more oils will have more effect on this type of skin rather than an Eau de toilette with less concentration on oils. When applying it, aim for those places on your wrists and neck where you can feel your blood pumping through the veins. By applying cologne to these spots, you target the “warmest” points on your body.
Always remember though, that at the end of the day, Fragrance is a very personal thing. It comes down to the smells we like, the image we are trying to portray and the ideals we want to uphold.

Never underestimate the power of a great perfume. Ps. Have you noticed most of the male colognes are black/ blue in color (the packaging): something about masculine colors?
