NAIROBI, Oct 28 – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) says all 223,223 supervisors and invigilators have been issued with firm guidelines to prevent malpractices in the Kenya Primary School Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations set to kick off on Monday.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nancy Macharia urged invigilators and center managers to desist from exam malpractice and ensure that examinations are conducted in accordance to the set rules
“We have vetted and deployed a total of 223,223 teachers as supervisors and invigilators. We have also identified 71,760 centers managers to be involved in the management of the examinations in all the examination centers country wide,” she stated.
Macharia also said that the teachers to be involved in the exercise had been briefed of their roles and responsibilities by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
“We have sent a circular to all schools and teachers warning against being members of the social media forums, perpetuating malpractice in the 2023 national examination and assessments” she stated.
“We call upon all the supervisors, invigilators and center managers to desist from exam malpractice and ensure that examinations are conducted in accordance to the set rules in order to deliver credible examinations,” she added.
She also assured the public that TSC will take disciplinary action to any teacher who will be involved in any kind of malpractice.
