NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 1 – Public Service Vehicles (PSV) which transport passengers to upcountry regions such as Western, Nyanza and some parts of Rift Valley are today set to relocate from Nairobi’s Central Business District to the Green Park termini, where they will now be picking and dropping passengers.
The move comes after Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja yesterday met with the leadership of long distance Saccos to ensure that the relocation is smooth.
Governor Sakaja said they agreed to provide the option of a cheap shuttle to ferry passengers to ambassador stage, for disembarking passengers coming to Nairobi.
The plan to move the long distances to Green Park was announced by Governor Sakaja last month after he held a meeting with matatu operators in the city, as part of measures to decongest the CBD.
The terminus which was constructed by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) at the cost of Sh250 million, was initially intended for PSVs plying Langata and Ngong road routes.
