NAIROBI, Kenya, December 2 – The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has licensed Kenyan Alliance Asset Management Limited as a fund manager, bringing the total number of licensed fund managers in Kenya to 42.

Kenyan Alliance Asset Management will provide wealth and portfolio management services tailored to both individual and corporate clients, adhering to the Capital Markets Regulations.

Additionally, CMA has admitted Yeshara Tokens Limited into its regulatory sandbox for a one-year trial.

The firm will use its blockchain-powered Yeshara Platform to test the trading of tokenized securities, starting with real estate assets.

According to CMA, this innovation is expected to unlock liquidity and broaden access to financial markets.

“The tokenization of real estate holds significant potential to expand access to international financial markets for both local and global investors,” said Wyckliffe Shamiah, CEO of the Capital Markets Authority.

The regulatory sandbox provides a secure and controlled environment for testing innovative financial solutions, aligning with CMA’s mission to promote market integrity, investor confidence, and market development.
