How did you come up with the idea for your YouTube channel and the concept of hosting interviews and games?
The idea for my YouTube channel, The SNS, was a culmination of various factors. Firstly, I wanted to find a way to merge my degree with my passion for creating content in an unconventional way. SNS provided the perfect platform to do both simultaneously. Secondly, the pressure of post-graduation life motivated me to start something for myself. Lastly, I drew inspiration from the content I consumed and the stories I wanted to share.
What’s been the most memorable or exciting interview you’ve conducted on your channel so far?
Without a doubt, the most memorable interview for me has to be the ‘A Love Letter’ segment featuring Anita Nderu and her husband, Barret. It was an incredibly heartwarming and intimate episode, filled with vulnerability. It’s by far my absolute favorite.
Can you share a funny or unexpected behind-the-scenes moment from one of your episodes?
Many of our funny moments happen after we finish filming, during our downtime with the camera crew. As for unexpected moments, one time, we had a technical difficulty where our guest arrived, but the gear didn’t. I found myself trying to put out that fire, and it was something I never expected, but we had a good laugh about it afterward!
How do you decide which celebrities or influencers to invite onto your show?
Initially, I reached out to friends and fellow creatives in the industry because it was easier to collaborate with people I knew. However, as the channel grew, we started receiving interest from potential guests, and we also pay attention to audience feedback. If our viewers want to see a specific guest, we make it happen.
What’s your favorite segment to include in your episodes – interviews, challenges, or games?
Int definitely has to be ‘ A love letter’
Are there any dream guests you haven’t had on your channel yet, but would love to invite in the future?
Absolutely! I’d love to have Judy Nyawira and Abel Mutua, as I’m a big fan of their work. I’m also keen to hear their stories as content creators and entrepreneurs, especially since they are a couple in this space. Additionally, I’d love to invite Amina Abdi and Shukri Abdi, among many others.
How has hosting this channel changed or impacted your own perspective on the entertainment industry?
Hosting The SNS has been a transformative experience. It has pushed me to network and step out of my comfort zone, connecting with people I might not have otherwise met. It has also changed how I perceive creatives and celebrities, making me see them as real, relatable human beings rather than unapproachable figures from social media.
Do you have any favorite hobbies or activities that help you relax and recharge?
I love going to the movies. The entire experience, from the snacks to the 3D glasses, the immersive sound, and the dim lights, offers me a perfect escape. When I’m at the cinema, all my problems are left at the door (laughs)
Can you share a favorite travel destination you’ve been to, or a place you’d love to visit in the future?
Italy! I envision myself in a silky white dress, next to the beach, savoring pasta with the wind blowing through my hair. It’s a dream I’d love to turn into reality.
Are there any books, movies, or TV shows that have greatly influenced or inspired you?
I’m a film enthusiast, and different movies and TV shows have influenced various aspects of my life. I particularly enjoyed watching shows like Project Runway and Next in Fashion on Netflix, as they inspire my sense of style. I also have a soft spot for old-school black romantic comedies. We love love!
What’s your go-to comfort food or guilty pleasure snack?
I indulge in junk food until my teeth become sensitive. But hey, who am I to resist the guilty pleasure of delicious snacks?
Do you have a favorite inspirational quote or mantra that you live by?
Yes, I have two favorite mantras. The first is inspired by my sister and goes, “Everything is working in my favor, and blessings are flowing towards me.” The second one is, “The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human.”

Would you rather have more time or money?
I think more time and that way I would make more money, I would spend more time with my loved ones.
Would you rather speak all foreign languages or speak to animals?
Being a proud cat mom, I’d definitely choose to speak to animals, especially my feline friends!
For your birthday, would you rather receive cash or gifts?
In this economy? (laughs) but i’d say thoughtful gifts on my Wishlist!
Deep sea diving or sky diving?
I haven’t tried either, but I’d opt for skydiving. I love the ocean, but I prefer to admire it from the beach!
