NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 5 – Absa Bank Kenya has been recognized as Africa’s top employer for the fourth consecutive year by the Top Employer Institute.

The institute commended Absa for its excellence in Leadership, Sustainability, Diversity and Inclusion, Purpose and Values, and Employee Listening.

The certification also extends to Absa’s operations in South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Botswana, and, for the first time, Mauritius.

“Retaining this certification underscores Absa’s consistent efforts to elevate its human capital practices while setting new benchmarks as a leading employer of choice in the financial sector across Africa,” the bank said in a statement.

Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director and CEO Abdi Mohamed said the award reinforces the bank’s commitment to building a talented, diverse, and future-ready workforce.

“By investing in our people and fostering a culture of belonging, well-being, and excellence, we continue to enhance the employee experience and strengthen our employer brand,” he said.

He added that Absa has prioritized psychological safety, diversity, and inclusion across its business units to enhance its work environment.

Absa Bank Kenya Chief People Officer Mumbi Kahindo said the recognition reaffirms the bank’s reputation as a respected financial institution.

“This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to fostering a workplace where excellence thrives, and our Human Capital practices set the standard for the industry,” she said.
