At least 6 dead after drowning in a well as they danced on a concrete slab in Ruiru

NAIROBI, Kenya Aug 19 – At least six people died and several others were injured after drowning in a well in Ruiru.

Police said the six, including a baby, were part of a group that had attended a wedding in Kihunguro area.

And on their way back home, they stopped by a friend’s residential home where they started dancing on a concrete slab that caved in.

Eleven are reported to have drowned when the slab caved in.

Police confirmed that six bodies were retrieved but a rescue operation was underway.
