NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 11 — A video that is circulating widely on Facebook that shows what appears to be a KTN News report announcing that a doctor is danger for finding a cure for Hypertension is fake.
The video which is ten minutes long is captioned “KENYAN DOCTOR IN DANGER! HE INVENTED A CURE FOR HYPERTENSION. IF YOU HAVE HYPERTENSION, READ IT RIGHT AWAY! BEFORE IT WILL REMOVE!”
KTN Swahili Anchor Ali Manzu appears to be presenting the report in the video that has received 43 shares and over 100,000 views thus far. It was posted on December 24th 2022.
Fact Check has however established that the video is fake.
First, the voice on the video is out of sync with the lips movement of the news anchor in the video.
Secondly, the news anchor in the video present news in Swahili on KTN News and the voice over sound in the video is in English.
The World Health Organization has not announced that the cure for Hypertension which would be a tremendous progress in the medicine world as 1.3 billion people across the globe have hypertension with most of the cases reported in developing countries.
Further, the video has not been posted on the official social media platforms belonging to KTN News.
