NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 14 — The burial ceremony of former news anchor the late Catherine Kasavuli is currently underway at her rural home in Zululu village, Vihiga County.
A section of national leaders led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula and Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua are among those in attendance.
Speaker Wetangula said Kasavuli was a national heroine who has left an indelible mark in the society.
“We used to watch news just to watch the charming Catherine. She was a national heroine who has left an indelible mark in the society,” Wetangula said
He further pointed out that cancer is extremely expensive and called on the government to roll out affordable universal healthcare to all Kenyans.
Kasavuli passed away on December 29, 2022 at the Kenyatta National Hospital after a long battle with cervical cancer.
She was 60 years old at the time of her death
