NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 17 – Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has accused opposition leaders of engaging in empty rhetoric instead of offering practical solutions to move the country forward.
He claimed that while the government is implementing development programmes and economic empowerment initiatives, opposition leaders are preoccupied with exploiting young people for political mileage.
“The job of many politicians is just to talk. They don’t help the citizens. They don’t find jobs for the youth. They don’t build roads. Their job is to come here and turn the youth into people who throw stones, engage in conflict, and do blogging. We have said talk is cheap, talk is cheap. Work is hard,” he stated.
The Deputy President also lauded the ongoing dualling of the Rironi-Mau Summit road that passes through Maai Mahiu saying it will improve the economy of the area and improve on safety on that road that is notorious for accidents.
He said this while leading the exercise of issuing title deeds to victims of Maai Mahiu floods tragedy in Naivasha Constituency in Nakuru County where he ordered that all the victims be settled regardless of whether they were landlords or tenants in houses that were swept away by floods.
