KISII, Kenya, Apr 11 – A man has pleaded guilty in a Kisii law court of assaulting his sister after she threw his Ugali away and said, he had every reason to do so due to the high cost of living.
The court magistrate Wa Kugwa Wahinya asked the accused person why he assaulted his sister and he stated that she threw his Ugali away following a disagreement and at that time he was very hungry and bitter.
“Am sorry for the offense and am asking this court to forgive me,” he said on mitigation.
The 28 year old man narrated his sister went back home after a failed marriage and since then they have been having a conflict and she ordered him to start cooking from his house and stop depending on his mother.
He went on and told the court that he bought his own cooking flour and went to his mother’s house to Cook Ugali and after finishing his sister stormed and threw the Ugali away.
“I got better with her,I worked hard to get money and bought the cooking flour which is very expensive,the economy is worsening and then here she comes to throw away my ugali,”he posed.
He further told the court he was previously married but his sister was troublesome,she created a hostle environment for his wife who eventually gave up and walked out of her marriage.
The case will come up for mention on 18, April, 2023 as the probation officer file a report.
