Mourners clash with police after being denied entry into Magoha’s village home

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 10 – Ugly scenes were witnessed at the home of the late George Magoha Friday, after mourners who were escorting his body clashed with police who were denying them access to the compound.

The hundreds of mourners who escorted Magoha’s body to his Umiru home were seen forcing entry while hurling stones at the police to access the home.

Moments later the police were able to restore calm.

Magoha’s body landed at the Yala Township Primary shortly after 2pm Friday, aboard a military chopper.

The body was received by Yala residents.

He will be buried on Saturday After a funeral mass at Odera Akang’o University College.

On Thursday, a requiem mass for Magoha was held at the Consolata Shrine in Westlands Nairobi.
