NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 9 – Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino is set to join the governing board of Weldios University Benin.
This is after the MP accepted the invitation from the selection board chairman at the institution.
Owino’s appointment is based on what they said is “his strength of character and integrity and track record of the well-being of well-meaning contribution to the society and Africa at large.”
“The chancellor of Weldios University Rev Dr. Chris Oyakhilome and the governing board of Weldios University Upon this official letter have after due diligence nominated you to be a member of our governing board of the prestigious institution,” the letter read.
In November 2023 Owino attained a doctorate degree from the Weldios University of Management and Technology.
In his response, Owino pledged to provide and generate insights that will be pivotal in serving society, humanity, and the underserved.
“This is therefore to confirm that I, Dr Babu Owino Paul Ongili, Member of parliament Embakasi East Constiuency In Nairobi, Kenya acknowledge your letter and confirm readiness to join the governing board of Weldios University,” he stated in his response letter.
“It is my Generation’s Honour that this university cares about the future and not only nurtures it but also wants to give a chance to some of us to share our views on how that nurturing should be done,” he added on X.
