NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 10 – Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has called for streamlining business registration processes to enhance Kenya’s ease of doing business.
Speaking at a forum hosted by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Sakaja cited the success of the Unified Business Permit (UBP), introduced under his leadership, which has improved service delivery in Nairobi.
Representing the Council of Governors, Sakaja urged county governments to address levies on cross-county trade, terming them barriers to seamless commerce.
He emphasized collaboration between the private sector and government to lower costs and foster economic growth.
“This conversation is long overdue. We need a business environment where entrepreneurs and investors can thrive without unnecessary barriers,” Sakaja said.
The forum focused on creating a conducive business environment and reducing bureaucratic challenges to boost private-sector growth.
