NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 9 – The National Police Service has introduced the Higher Training Course (HTC), aimed at preparing officers for senior positions within the service upon graduation.
Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Douglas Kanja, officially launched the course at the National Police College’s main campus in Kiganjo.
The course, with a duration of six months, serves as the terminal promotional course within the service, currently accommodating 120 chief inspectors.
NPS highlighted that upon completion of the course, officers will be eligible for recognition as gazetted officers, equipped with enhanced competence to undertake senior management roles.
“The 6-month course is designed to groom officers who, upon successful completion, will join the cadre of gazetted officers to fulfill senior management roles within the service,” stated NPS.
They further reiterated the commitment of the National Police Service to training its officers to the highest standards of competence.
During his address to the cadets, DIG Kanja emphasized the importance of human capital development within the police force. He urged the trainees to adequately prepare themselves for future higher command and leadership responsibilities within the NPS.
