NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 30 – The Public Service Commission has called for the application of central bank of Kenya(CBK) governor and deputy position.
In a newsletter released by the commission’s chairperson ambassador Anthony Muchiri, the commission laid out a list of guidelines for the applicants who are interested in the positions that have been declared vacant.
For the appointment to the position of governor, central bank of Kenya, a person should be a citizen of Kenya, have a deep understanding of global financial sector trends and be a person of integrity and meet the requirements of chapter six of the constitution” read the statement.
It further said that all the applicants must have at least 10 years’ experience, knowledge and ability to ensure good governance practices as well as organizational and administrative skills. The central bank of Kenya governor is responsible for management of the bank including the organization, appointment and dismissal of the staff.
The governor also signs individually or jointly with other persons contracts concluded by the bank, notes and securities issued by the bank. The announcement of the vacancies by the Public Service Commission comes as governor Patrick Njoroge exits after a two term tenure having been reappointed by retired president to serve his second and final term in office.
The application window lapses April 19th as interested parties are implored to submit their application through the Public Service Commission.
