RUMURUTI, Kenya, Feb – Rumuti Deputy OCS is reported to have been fatally stabbed by a suspect, who owns a chang’aa den in Maundu Ni Meri shopping centre, Laikipia West Constituency.
According to a police report, the OCS was dropped at the shopping centre to arrest the suspect identified as Jackline Leperle, but was met with resistance leading to his unfortunate death.
The boda boda operator who carried the deceased to the centre reported the incident which prompted police officers led by sub-county police commander and sccio Laikipia West proceeded to the scene and confirmed.
“It was established that No. 237696 IP Prosper Wandera the deputy OCS Rumuruti had been stabbed on the left side of the chest using a sharp object suspected to be a knife occasioning a deep wound,” a police report states.
The suspect is said to have fled immediately after stabbing the deceased to death using a motorcycle leaving the 20 liters of chang’aa at the scene.
The body of the OCS has since been taken to St Benedict hospital mortuary in Nyahururu, wawaiting postmortem.
Investigations to ascertain the incident underway.
