NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 15 — Kenya’s former envoy to China Sarah Serem has been appointed Chairperson of the Postbank Board.
In a gazette notice published on Friday, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u indicated that Serem will serve for a period of three years with effect from January 13, 2023.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 (2) (a) of the Kenya Post Office Savings Bank Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— AMB. SARAH SEREM to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Post Office Savings Bank, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th January 2023,” Ndung’u stated.
Serem had during the 2022 General Election joined the race to succeed former Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago whose term came to an end but lost during primaries.
She previously served as Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
In other appointments, Transport and Roads Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen named former Kinango Member of Parliament Benjamin Dalu Tayari as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority, for a period of three years.
CS Kipchumba revoked the appointment of Gen Joseph Kibwana.
